Using connected assistants

What Claude, ChatGPT and other connected assistants can read, how text they send in becomes proposals, and how to change their access or disconnect them.

What an assistant can read

A connected assistant reads Relai as you. It sees the workspace you connected it to and only what you can see there. Its first permission, which is always on, covers your roster, representation agreements, playing contracts, deals, tasks, clubs, contacts and club requirements, plus the proposals waiting for your review.

With the second permission, Read wages and commission, it can also read wages, recorded earnings and commission summaries. Money comes per currency with bonuses listed beside guaranteed pay, never converted or totalled across currencies. Without that permission the assistant's answers leave financial fields out and say so.

Every record in an answer carries a link back to Relai, so you can check the source before you act on it. What the assistant reads goes to the provider you chose, under your own account with them.

What it cannot do

An assistant cannot edit a record, approve or reject a proposal, send a message, share a Player Pack, or change settings. It cannot read another member's private Inbox, and it cannot see another workspace unless you connect it there separately. Relai does not track payments, so it cannot tell you what has been received.

How sent text becomes proposals

With the third permission, Send text into Relai for your review, you can tell your assistant about a call or paste a message and ask it to log it in Relai.

01

The assistant sends the text in

It can send your own words or text you pasted. It arrives in your private Inbox as a captured source labelled with the assistant's name, like an email you forwarded.

02

Relai turns it into proposals

Relai reads the source and proposes records and updates, each quoting the words it came from. Relai omits rather than guesses, so a vague message may produce fewer proposals than you expect.

03

You approve what stays

Open the Inbox, accept the proposals you want and reject the rest. Only accepted proposals become shared workspace data. Your assistant can tell you how many proposals are waiting, but it cannot act on them.

Change what an assistant can do

Open Settings → AI assistants. Your connections are listed with the assistant's name, its permissions, when it was connected and when it was last used. Choose Edit access on a connection to turn Read wages and commission or Send text into Relai on or off. The first permission cannot be turned off; revoke the connection instead.

Access you turn off stops at the assistant's next request. Access you turn on takes effect when the assistant next connects, so start a new chat after turning something on. Only the person who connected an assistant can edit its access.

See what it did

Each connection has an Activity log. It records every request the assistant made: which tool it called, whether the call completed, failed or was rate limited, how many rows came back and when. It never records the content that was read or sent. Owners and admins see every member's connections and their activity.

Disconnect an assistant or switch them all off

01

Revoke one connection

Under Settings → AI assistants, choose Revoke on the connection. The assistant loses access straight away. Anything it already sent in stays in Relai. To use it again, connect it again from the assistant.

02

Turn off AI assistants for the workspace

Owners and admins have a switch, Allow AI assistants, at the top of the same page. Turning it off keeps every member's connections but stops them all working until it is turned back on. An assistant then reports that AI assistant access is turned off for this workspace.

03

Other ways access ends

Leaving or being removed from a workspace revokes your connections to it. Changing your password or signing out of all devices disconnects your assistants too. Deleting your account removes them.

Troubleshooting

01

The assistant cannot find the Relai tools

Make sure the Relai connector or plugin is enabled in the current chat, then start a new chat. If it still cannot see them, check under Settings → AI assistants that the connection is listed and that the workspace allows AI assistants.

02

Answers leave out money

The connection does not have Read wages and commission. Turn it on with Edit access, then start a new chat.

03

The assistant says it is rate limited

Relai limits how many requests one connection can make in a minute and in an hour. The message includes when to try again. Narrower questions need fewer requests.

04

The assistant says access is turned off or the subscription lapsed

An owner or admin has turned off Allow AI assistants, or the workspace's subscription needs attention. Settings → AI assistants explains which, and links to billing where that is the cause.
